To offer a change to help social distancing has to be a joke! With a mask you can be next to someone. If you don’t like to take the risk wear one. By the time this happens we will all be vaccinated and be into the next virus and Covid will be a memory. Get real elmbridge and spend money on other parts of the borough which are crying out for help.

Baker Street is much more pleasant to walk along and shop. Less traffic, noise and congestion. Traffic on the High Street through Weybridge also running smoothly as does not have to constantly stop to let traffic out of Baker Street near the Nat West Bank. Please continue with these measures. Would be good if the cafes on Baker Street were permitted to use the outdoor space/pavements in summer months to help those businesses who are struggling in the current situation.

Baker St feels much safer and more pleasant to visit now. The traffic now flows more smoothly westbound through the high street as there is no longer traffic merging in from Baker St. I think the barrier in Baker St needs to be changed to an automatic bollard so that emergency vehicles can pass through.

The temporary closure has improved the road enormously for pedestrian and cycling. Making it far safer at a point where fatalities have unfortunately occurred in the past. The closure has actually smoothed the traffic flow in the high street as their are less cars exiting Baker Street bottom end, thus speeding up traffic flow. I endorse making this permanent.

Fails on most respects, makes more of an accident blacks spot for exit on to Monument hill, harder for residents getting to and from Baker Street, causing more traffic congestion on nearby residential roads. Emergency vehicles need to have more direct access. Traffic calming measures would be a much better idea. I have noticed cyclist riding much faster since these measures making it more dangerous to cross the road.
