I support most cycle schemes however I do not support shared use paths as they do not aid cyclists and they have a detrimental effect on pedestrians

Any 'temporary' measures are never temporary! I have experience of shared pedestrian/cycle pathways in other areas that I frequent and I feel less safe as a pedestrian. I end up having to negotiate two flows of traffic to cross a road where I want to cross it making it much more hazardous. Cyclists, electric scooters, cars belong on the road. They should all be licenced and have insurance. They should all abide by the highway code or be fined. This will undoubtably make the pavements safer for pedestrians and the roads safer for road users.
